⏵ WEAPON × TARGET ARMOR MATRIX
Patch 4.7 introduced armor deflection thresholds — if your weapon's alpha-per-shot is below a target's threshold, every shot bounces off the hull for zero damage. This page shows whether each weapon clears the threshold for each target class. Green = penetrates · Amber = marginal · Red = fully deflected. Pair this with DPS and Sustain (∞ = no ammo, energy weapons) — the highest-alpha cannon isn't always best because ballistics run out of rounds. NN-series neutron cannons are mid-alpha but infinite-sustain energy; mass drivers are highest-alpha but ammo-limited. Pair with the matchup matrix for the full per-ship picture.
